Wolfgan Dimetrik - Bach: Partitas Nos. 2 & 4 (2013)

With this new recording for Gramola, the exceptionally gifted musician Wolfgang Dimetrik once more draws on the highly comprehensive and impressive pool of the literature for solo piano by Johann Sebastian Bach. After the Goldberg Variations and the English Suites, the award-winning accordionist here presents Partita No. 2 in C minor BWV 826 and No. 4 in D major BWV 828 from the compendium of piano music by the Baroque maestro casually termed Clavierübung in a technically perfect and the usually musically convincing manner. As with his interpretation of his arrangements of these compositionally supreme works, in the Choral Prelude 'Wachet auf, ruft uns die Stimme' BWV 140 absolute fidelity to the original score is of paramount significance - as always in the case of Dimetrik.
