Long devoted to contemporary music, Valentine Buttard has a longstanding connection with the work of composer Philippe Hersant, in fact she is even a dedicatee.
And so, it seemed a perfectly natural choice for her to dedicate this, her first album, to two of his cycles for solo piano, Ephémères and Steps. Richly poetic and colorful, Philippe Hersant’s music embarks us on a voyage deep into our own minds.
