Chopin University Press - Aldona Nawrocka: Ave (2022) Hi-Res

Ave is the first monographic album of the Warsaw composer Aldona Nawrocka. The album includes sacred choral pieces inspired by the Roman Catholic liturgy. Symbolism and references to tradition have been juxtaposed with the contemporary, but communicative for the listener, sound language. It is incredibly emotional music in which whisper and scream intertwine, although - according to the composer - the whisper is more powerful. He prefers silence to noise, a minimum of measures to a maximum of expression.

Nawrocka's works resound in the interpretation of the Polish Chamber Choir - a leading vocal ensemble specializing in contemporary music, led by Jan Łukaszewski.

"Each recipient, regardless of the degree of erudite advancement or the faith he professes, will take from the album a lot of emotions, thoughts, and various contents (more mystical than discursive). It turns out that Nawrocka's music encourages not so much reading as meditation" ( Teresa Gręziak).
