ACID Trippin's first ever released album was released. Group; one of the first communities to experience a multi-dimensional, experimental jazz attitude in a refined manner. It is possible to think of styles in terms of Acid - jazz or Electronic Music. Afro - American sensitivity is central to their music; many key elements of jazz jazz are also trying to broaden their boundaries.
Acid Trippin was founded in 1995 with the participation of important jazz musicians from different experiences. If the Group creator Ali Perret, one of Turkey's most important jazz pianists. Perret, one of the rare artists who have his own style and technique, is the main architect of Acid Trippin sound. Perret, who collects attention with his composer and commentator's identity on various lanes of modern jazz, made a significant leap in his own adventure with this last project. The album features a total of eleven compositions, two of which are "remixes". Since the group is designed as a project, it is possible to find many of the most prominent guest musicians along with the main staff of many important musicians.
Acid - jazz predecessor emerged as a commercial concept. Especially in the last decade, it has proved to the whole world that it is a privileged jazz genre. Each qualified Acid - jazz band has been influenced by different colors of world music - especially Black Music. In Acid - Trippin, such a musical attitude has passed on. Improvisation, which means jazz essence, is a part of music. Group, for nearly three decades, cafes and bars named the most-mentioned group, while particularly in 1997, was the guest of Turkey's most important festival. The studio recordings of last summer's group have finally got the opportunity to face a wider jazz lover through their new album. "Trippin" is the first name given in the early 19th century, in the world of blacks. Afro - Americans are still using this concept instead of jazz. While Acid Trippin showed his commitment to such a perception of music, they also chose to take advantage of the technical possibilities of our time. If they are silly, they add flavors to their music from different folklore. "New Music" are inspired. They did not ignore World Music's current pulse. The avant - garde dimensions on most pieces symbolize the group 's efforts to push the usual jazz patterns.
My album's name is "Midnite Rebels". Even the name of your albums is a sign of their experimentation. In Acid Trippin's main line, besides Ali Perret, there is also successful saxophonist Yahya Dai, whom we know from the Asiaminor group. It is possible to catch the extraordinary performance of Sarp Maden from the glittering names of jazz guitar throughout the album. Representing the rhythm section of bassist Pismisoglu Racer, drummer and percussionist Murat Özbey Erdinç Şenol is one of the best of their instrument in Turkey. Among the other important contributors to the project are Erkan Ogur, Ercüment Ates and Egyptian Ahmet.
"Midnite Rebels," which gives the album its name, is the piece that best reflects the spirit of the jazz. In this piece, Oğur's fretless guitar solos are especially important to remember. Another piece that fascinates me in the album, "Transmarginal Inhibition". This is an example where the sense of group has risen to the peak. If it is a "remix", "Gökova Seabird", it is possible to discover the multidimensionality of the band's music in its entirety. It is possible to discover the pinnacle that the young guitarist Sarp Maden has on his instrument, in a successful piece called "Swingthing" that even exceeds the characteristics of a modern swing piece.
The only mistake of this beautiful album is the inability to register. The low tone, sometimes interrupting our intimate interlude with music. But, the bug is more of a technical problem than of music. Perhaps Turkey's first Acid - Acid Trippin Ali Perret pioneer of the jazz band and we still need to celebrate. I can easily say that the resulting work is a world-class work.~Orhan KAHYAOĞLU (google)
