Xalapa Jazz Orchestra Sexteto - Cronologías (2022)

It is an independent group made up of six musicians from Mexico and abroad based in the capital, which since February 2016 has performed in different local forums, as well as national and international festivals.

The ensemble includes Arturo Caraza Orozco (alto saxophone), Alejandro Bustos González (tenor saxophone), Jakub Dedina (trombone), Luis Rodríguez Dorantes (piano), Jorge Gamboa (double bass) and Jesús Rodríguez Alarcón (drums). In their repertoire the sound of swing, bebop, hard bop and Latin jazz can be heard, rhythms in which they display a very suggestive timbre.

Chronology is committed to the work of Veracruz musicians, through eight pieces by composers Guillermo Cuevas, Edgar Dorantes and Lucio Sánchez, with arrangements by outstanding young creators Valentina Marentes and Angélica Alamillo.
