This CD is the result of the Ignacio Villa scholarship, awarded by the record company Egrem and the Hermanos Saíz Association, to the young pianist from Camagüey.
Estévez is not alone in this musical crusade, he is accompanied by bassist Samuel Burgos Martínez and drummer Marcos Morales Valdés, two exceptional talents. The songs “Safari” and “Universo”, advances that we appreciate, have caused a great impact on the networks and have Jazz lovers in Cuba and abroad eager to witness the great launch, which will take place on March 11 .
The young Adrián Osvaldo Estévez Rodríguez fell in love with music in his native Camagüey, at the Luis Casas Romero Vocational School of Art, where he caressed the keys and committed to them in 2002. He then went to the José White Conservatory, in that same his land, and later managed to cross the long-awaited doors of the Higher Institute of Art (ISA) in Havana, where he discovered that his greatest passion is composition.
This restless boy was awarded a Mention in Interpretation at the JoJazz Festival, in 2011; second place in the composition category in the 2017 edition, and Mention in the 2015 Musicalia contest.
