During the pandemic, twelve Big Band's artistic director Helge Albin has used the time to produce new music for his fantastic orchestra. Four compositions were created and could finally be recorded and filmed in October 2021 in The End Studio.
The music is everything from energetic, beautiful and skilfully orchestrated and Helga Albin's careful choice of soloists gives each composition its own character. The ensemble plays, as always, with an organic nerve and great passion.
Tolvan Big Band has collaborated with greats such as Dizzie Gillespie, Michael Brecker, Dave Liebman and Palle Mikkelborg and toured in Australia, Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, England, Germany, France, Belgium, Switzerland, Poland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and the Nordic countries.
