Anton Steck - Bernhard Molique: Violin Concertos Nos. 3 & 6 (2013)

The virtuoso violinist Bernhard Molique was what is today called a child prodigy. His successful career was rounded off by a professorship at the Royal Academy in London.
Contemporary critics praised the clarity, grace and purity of his playing, placing him on a par with Paganini although his works are mostly forgotten today.
This disc gives an insight into this talented composer, performed here by Anton Steck, one of Germany’s leading baroque violin soloists. Steck, accompanied by the talented musician of L’arpa Festante, researched Molique’s violin concertos and airs them here for the first time.
