Hannes Zerbe Quintett - Live im A-Trane Berlin (Live) (2022)

The Hannes Zerbe Quintet was invited to play at the presentation of the "Jazzpreis 2021" of the city of Berlin, which was awarded to the pianist and composer Hannes Zerbe on 9 June 2021. In his work, Hannes Zerbe repeatedly looks for relations to material from the realm of classical serious music creating a fluctuating exchange between two seemingly incompatible musical levels through the originality of his sound ideas and the stringency of his improvisational ideals. Thus, compositions on his recent album originate predominantly from Hannes Zerbe and show once again his ability to build convincing bridges to different improvisation concepts in this way.
