The B-3 organ gives "I'm Gone" a true soul sound that adds depth. The bass guitar work by Kip Paxton, carries the rhythm section with some explosive fretwork. John Peck keeps the energy level high with some excellent drumming that is complimented by Kip Paxton's exhilirating bass riffs. "baby blues" paints a picture of a smoke filled Chicago lounge, filled with people searching for their soulmate as John Michael Zov and company fill the air with Bluesy romantic connotations. "can't live without love" serves to dispel the theory that many people have about blues tunes being all the same. This is certainly in the blues genre, but it has elements of jazz, rock and soul weaved into the structure making for a unique piece. Only a well seasoned songwriter could pull off this arrangement with the beauty and elegance that "can't live without love" manages.
