Last fall, we fell under the spell of Grand Garçon and his very magnetic synthwave which dressed his remarkable first EP called Pas que toi (reviewed here). Now that it has gained some notoriety, it is now impossible to miss it as it returns eight months later with its soberly titled successor Two.
Once again, we let ourselves be carried away by the cavernous voice of Grand Garçon which blends perfectly with synthwave, cold and gently gothic productions. Deux will come to hypnotize us with titles such as "En apnée" which opens the EP before continuing with the haunting synthetic loops of "Comme un phantom" and "Cloud" while demonstrating modernity with trap influences on " White weapon ". Nevertheless, the young musician continues to combine angry riffs, feverish synths and rowdy rhythms to better impress us at the end with also "Voyante" as a bewitching conclusion making Deux a successful sequel.
