Oliver received his first guitar at the age of 15 and taught himself to play on his own. Self-taught, he spent his early years learning different guitar styles. The main influences on his electric guitar playing are: Albert King, Buddy Guy, John Lee Hooker, B. B. King, Albert Collins, songwriting - Steve Earle and Townes Van Zandt. In 1990, Mally founded the group "Sir" Oliver Mally's Blues Distillery. He spent the following years on national and international tours. He has played with bluesmen such as Louisiana Red, Steve James, Doug MacLeod, John Mooney, Larry Garner, Sugar Blue, among others. In addition to his solo career, he also performed in collaborations with Martin Gasselsberger, Martin Moro, Hubert Hofherr, Peter Schneider, The Low Fi Kings, Sidesteps and others. " in Austria.
