The Blues based quartet explained that they grew up listening music from the Impressions, Lou Rawls, Tyrone Davis, Sam Cooke, The Chi-Lites, The Dells and many more, on the AM radio. The group’s leader, Jim “Ang” Anderson said "Chicago Soul was part of the soundtrack to our childhood, and when we got older and were playing in the Blues clubs, R&B is what was playing on the jukebox. So it’s a natural evolution for the band to incorporate our vocal harmonies, and delve into some South Side Soul. In fact when I was 20 years old, I was on the road with Little Milton, and he walked the line between blues and R & B”.

The band, consisting of Anderson on lead vocals and guitar, Nelson Keaton on harmonica, Gus Gotsis on drums, and Mike Bailey on bass, decided to recruit some friends to add some spice to the project. SonnyLee Tritt is a veteran R & B saxophonist who has played with the greats, Jeff “Wally” Walroth, is a venerable musician’s musician, plays B3 organ, piano, and melodica, Jeff’s wife Becky adds tambourine. Even though Anderson handles all of the guitar chores, he decided to bring in his favorite local guitarist. “Hollywood” Johnny Cosgrove, to play on “Ruby”.
