The Sea Connection Trio: Claudio Palana on piano, Tommaso Pugliese on double bass and Federico Saccà on drums, "was born from the meeting of three young musicians from the Strait of Messina, who share an innovative vision of music and compositional art, which combines modernity with mainstream tradition ”, reads the group's YouTube channel. The trio, in the conception and recording of the disc, made use of the talent of Nicola Caminiti, Sicilian saxophonist, born in 1995, an artist with an international profile who lives and works in New York.
With the group, "guest" at the first live show in which the album will be proposed, there will be Alessandro Presti, a well-known Sicilian trumpeter of great stylistic stature.
A great training that leaves no room for doubt about an evening that promises to be extraordinary, in a place that is nothing short of suggestive.
Among the first masters to launch into constructive comments and analyzes, in view of the artistic future of the group, is Luciano Troja, who in August 2019 as artistic director of the Laudamo Philharmonic, hosted the Sea Connection Trio for a concert by the review "Jazz al Parco", in Roccalumera, the first or among the first of the group in an official program. "I got to see them at work in a complete way. I was struck by the concentration with which they prepare the concert, exchanging a few words, I would say glances, to then make the most of a complex musical discourse, but always usable. A flow that never fails, both live and in the recording room, the result of a serene approach ", wrote the pianist in his presentation note for the album.
