Ran Nir - Greener Pastures (2022) Hi-Res

Honest, blunt, open and truthful: The Jerusalem-born Berliner-by-choice Ran Nir once coined the slogan "Sad music for happy people - happy music for sad people" - which is still the mantra for the songwriter's music, including his second solo album Greener Pastures, released on 19 August via Clouds Hill. For on it he combines the uplifting with the bittersweet, and doubt with a silver lining. "A lot of the album is about making peace with who I was, focusing on who I am, and looking forward to who I could become," he sums up Greener Pastures. "That made the lyrics pretty direct. No metaphors, no allegories." By his past here, he means the self-indulgent life of a constantly touring rock star, as part of the band The Mojos, which he formed with Israeli music idol Asaf Avidan.
