Brian Allen & Georg Hofmann - El Sur (2022) [Hi-Res]

Brian Allen and Georg Hofmann met in summer of 2017 at the house of bassist Aaron Cruz and poet Guadalupe Galvan in Mexico City. A first duo concert was performed end of September of the same year in Zürich, Switzerland, followed by the recording of the tracks that form El Sur the next day at Hofmann’s studio. In May 2018 there followed some concerts in duo and in trio with Aaron Cruz. In December 2018 Brian came back to Switzerland for a short tour of Switzerland. Georg Hofmann moved to Merida, Mexico in summer 2019.

Then the pandemic hit, which Brian Allen passed mostly in Japan working with Jakob Koller. Georg Hofmann worked from his home in Merida and when possible live in the local jazz scene, playing with a multitude of great musicians like Todd Clouser, Alex Mercado, Oscar Teran, Armando Martin, Blaise Siwula and more.
