The six-piece band from Detroit included various members such as
Kenneth 'Babyface' Edmonds, Randy Walker, Donald K. Parks, and
Stevie Woods, who went on to a solo career. Babyface joined the
group in 1979 after his stint with Manchild and April. Four years
later, he joined The Deele. Parks continued to work with Babyface
and L.A. Reid (of the Deele) on a technical/programming aspect on
their early work as producers (After 7, Whitney Houston, Bobby
Brown, Jermaine Jackson, Paula Abdul, and the Jacksons)
Walker has been working with Babyface on the same level as Parks did
(including Toni Braxton, Az Yet, After 7, Jon B., and the 'Waiting
To Exhale' soundtrack). Some members of the group are still together
playing small venues. The band has released two albums, "Crowd
Pleasers" and "Freaky People" (Westbound Records), both in 1979
Babyface was not in the band at this time, but the album's musicians
included Delbert Payne (keyboards), Craig Moreland (guitar), Donald
Payne (bass), Earl E. Davis (drums), Al Carey (trumpet), Michael L
Roberts (tenor sax), Leroy Emmanuel (percussion, guitar), Gary
Schunk (moog), and Eric Morgenson (synthesizer)
