Accademia Amsterdam recorded a CD produced by Folia, ensemble for Renaissance and Baroque dance, with dances from the French Baroque.
"A Choice Collection of Dances" is a beautiful CD of music for dances, including 26 choreographies listed by Pécour, Feuillet, L' Abbé en Le Rousseau. The CD contains solos for men and women, danses á deux, choreography for three or four dancers and a few contre dances. The dance music is from operas by Lully, Campra, Marais, de La Coste, Rebel, Destouchess etc. Most of the selection on this CD has not been previously recorded, let alone the specific requirements for the choreography in terms of tempo, character and dance schedule. The newest release has added dances, 10 minutes more playing time.
The CD got a very high appreciation in the magazine Luister! and the Journal of Early Music.
