Solju - Uvjamuohta (2022)

Solju's second album "Uvjamuohta" (translated as "powder snow") intentionally draws inspiration from this happy time of the year. The musicians once again skillfully combine yoiki, traditional songs of the Sami people, with modern pop music. The first single, the ballad "Oassi Mus" (translated: "Part of Me"), would fit perfectly in any indie pop playlist.
Ulla Pirttijärvi and Hilda Lansman are from Utsjoki in Lapland, Finland's northernmost municipality. They are proud of the original culture of their homeland. Sami culture and identity are at the heart of their music, which reflects the mythology of the traditional Sami lifestyle.
