Released six years after his last studio album, Konstantin Wecker's Wut und Zärtlichkeit (Anger and Tenderness) offers 14 new songs by the German singer/songwriter. Together with producer Florian Moser and guest musicians such as pianist Jo Barnikel, guitarist and percussionist Jens Fischer-Rodrian, the Spring String Quartett, and Italian singer Pippo Pollina, Wecker offers a lot of stylistic diversity throughout the album, presenting his alternatingly sarcastic and poetic lyrics in musical settings that encompass rock, pop, blues, reggae, and world music and include elements such as orchestral backing and electronic rhythms. The album, which is also available as a limited edition (which adds a second CD with alternate versions of seven album tracks), entered the Austrian charts at number ten and the German charts at number 18.
