The idea for this CD came about when baritone Florian Just wanted to integrate Ravel's Chansons Madécasses into a program. The unusual instrumentation of voice, piano, violoncello and flute is rarely found in other compositions. It soon became clear that he would have to search further in French music. After all, he found Caplet's Viens!

Une flûte invisible ... for voice, flute and piano and Massenet's Élégie in the arrangement for voice, violoncello and piano. His former fellow student, the pianist, composer and successful arranger Wijnand van Klaveren, arranged songs by contemporaries of the aforementioned composers, thus expanding the repertoire.
