The Blues Spiders draw on the rich tradition of Thames delta R 'n' B and Blues. A new band but chock full of experience and meaty goodness!

The Blues Spiders draw upon the long established tradition of Thames Delta bands bringing you the best of blues and rhythm and blues. A new band but chock full of experience and meaty goodness! There’s some blues classics, some favourite r’n’b and throw in some self-penned material and that’s one serious Memphis soul stew.

Mitch Greaves (Vocals and Harps)
Mitch is a long established virtuoso of the ‘gob iron’ (to borrow an expression from Lee Brilleaux) having made the journey via playing guitar. Medals of honour include supporting Buddy Whittington on his 2011 UK tour and guesting most recently with Nine Below Zero under the watchful and approving eye of harp magician Mark Feltham. In addition to TRIN, Mitch also treads the boards fronting a 14 piece blues showband. Backline equipment includes a selection of vintage valve amps, including a Fender Excelsior; Hohner harps and Shure Bullet mikes.

Paul Henshaw:
Another blues man of impeccable pedigree who plays the upright electric bass to perfection, giving the band a lovely rounded sound. Paul is a multi-talented musician who has played in a number of local acts and others further afield and can turn his hand to a variety of other instruments, including sax, percussion and keyboards.

Scott Perkins (Drums):
Right at the heart of the engine room delivering the ‘kick-ass’ rhythms; Scotty has an impressive array of gear and more kits than Manchester United. Scotty has also clocked up many miles in bands. Equipment includes Premier drums, Sabia and Zildjian cymbals, Artist sticks and his influences include Stella Artois and Grolsch.

Russ Cottee (Guitar):
A veteran of the Essex scene over the decades including support slots to Dr Feelgood and The Blues Band in the late ‘70s, member of the legendary Honky Tinkers in the 80s/90s and most recently in London with the Midnight River Blues Band. Lead guitar and the meanest slide since Hound Dog Taylor. Equipment includes Fender Telecasters and Stratocaster, Fender combo.
