The “7à8” saxophone ensemble was created around 2010 at the instigation of young saxophonists from the Royal Conservatory of Mons. Their idea: to create a septet of saxophones in order to interpret great works from the repertoire of the classical orchestra. To achieve this, they call on an arranger, Thomas Pechot, the eighth musician of the group. Starting from the original orchestral score, he re-writes the scores so that they stick as well as possible to the saxophone septet and in particular to the musicians of the 7 to 8 ensemble.

The group has evolved a lot since its beginnings: its 8 musicians are all graduates of the Conservatories of Mons and/or Brussels and it is part of the catalog of the Art and Life Tours.
