Yndian Mynah present their second album The Boys Scribbled Like Mad recorded over 2021 and 2022 in studio with Dane Taylor. Growing from the first album Velvet Youth, the band wanted to capture the rawness and togetherness of live performances. The Boys Scribbled Like Mad was all recorded live, choosing the best takes. Using the energy of playing in the same room, the recording beautifully captured the band’s live style and communicative nature of their performances.
Yndian Mynah is a South African instrumental band based in Cape Town. Their sound can be described as post-rock music with hints of dreamy psychedelia, post-punk and prog rock that vacillates between explosive edges and nostalgic narratives.
Staying away from conventional rock music, Yndian Mynah is not bound by language or genre, allowing for impressive high-energy live shows that focus on a visual and instrumental journey, left wide open for personal interpretation. Expect large guitar-driven songs led by spontaneous structural changes, with a tendency for heavy breakdowns and momentary euphoria.
