Godlike singing from Arnhem Land backed by the Budapest Art Orchestra. This is the point virtuosic traditional music from Arnhem Land, as it has been sung for thousands of years, mainly in isolation, splits off and becomes high art on a world scale. Ngulmiya writes by improvising over traditional Dhumbala/Red Flag songs and previously private ceremony songs. Sung in Wubuy language mixed with words that have merged from old Indonesian and SE Asian languages over centuries of trade and cultural exchange with the people of Makassar and SE Asia.
