The Hornbuckle brothers are on top of their game in Virtue & Vice. In this big, juicy album jam-packed with 16 tracks, the band mixes rhythm & blues with classic rock, a little acoustic, and a touch of signature blues. The theme of the album seems to be a nostalgia for the '80s, with one entire song "Complicated" dedicated to the subject. "Back to Denver" explores the band's roots and beginnings in the '80s. I'm hearing influences of Carlos Santana in track 13, and Led Zeppelin in track 14. Brian's outrageous bass guitar virtuosity and and Michael's lyrical lead guitar work and soulful voice are in top form. And what a classic album cover! Makes me want to take a road trip. Virtue & Vice will definitely be on my play list!
