Dedicating his life to art and to a vision of a new creative and social sustainability, Daniel Villa Verde makes a contemporary jazz with many landscapes and perspectives, like a journey without an itinerary in his new work “Átomo de Antares”. This is a release on the Cantores del Mundo label.
“In a time of speed and accelerated processing, on this album there is an implicit invitation to go deeper; directing heightened senses to the perception of reverberation. Receiving the music like a quilt of catharsis giving shape to the pillars that mold the texture, colors and thrill of each note and its resound”, reflects Daniel. “Full of secrets, stories, places (to which they propose to be different at the close of your eyes), passion, desire, expectations, falls, screams and smiles. On the basis of a pulsating love, which camouflages itself in beats in the most distinct rhythmic cells, true and without fear of being errant”.
The album, as the cover itself suggests, is a work carried out by several hands, with Daniel's music being the link between them all. One can notice the protagonism of all the participants of each song, in a dance that comes and goes. As the composer himself says: "An invitation from one to infinity, and back to one".
Guided by his guitar and guitar, Villa Verde puts together a remarkable band composed of Aline Gonçalves (flute, clarinet and vocals), Antonio Neves (drums and trombone), Joanna Weglinski (flute in G and vocals), Marcelo Muller (double bass and vocals) and Yuri Villar (soprano and tenor sax), artists who shared stages with names like Egberto Gismonti, Hermeto Pascoal, Marisa Monte and Mônica Salmaso.
The disc creates landscapes and sounds that walk between the urban and the natural, as well as the artist, who divides his time between music and work as a beekeeper, in the mountains of Rio de Janeiro.
Produced by Villa Verde, Neves and Muller, “Átomo de Antares” is available on all streaming platforms.
