Being one of South Africa’s most promising musical talents, Robin Fassie, nephew of SA Pop legend Brenda Fassie, moves steadily towards becoming one of the finest young jazz musicians on the scene today. Already an outstanding trumpeter, his relaxed mature and soulful style combines sensitivity and flair with great skill. His newly established group, the Robin Fassie Quintet (Norsk Kvintett) – consists of a strong core of local up and coming Norwegian musical talent, Roar Kjeldahl - Guitar, Åsmund Eikill - Bass, Kjetil Mulelid - Piano and Sondre Veland on drums, making this an international collaboration super group between South Africa and Norway. The Quintet has had a successful and greatly received debut tour in Norway travelling to Bergen, Oslo, Trondheim and Hamar.

Fassie's debut album 'Intwasa: The Becoming' will be released 17 March with Platoon.
