Hugo Blouin - Sport national (2023)

Sport national brings together 11 pieces of hockey chamber music, mostly songs, composed from archival reprints of all kinds.

Like a documentary, they follow my fascinated discovery of this sport and this cultural object. The album focuses on certain key characters, themes and events that reveal hockey as both a witness and a stakeholder in the evolution of society, for better and for worse. Everything being shaped by the musicality of the language of sport, I take the opportunity to have fun with it along the way.
