Mohamed Lamouri - Méhari (2023) [Hi-Res]

Mohamed Lamouri sings sentimental raï. Living in Paris but born in Algeria, he has been performing in the Paris metro since the early 2000s. Mohamed has a long story : illegal immigrant, autonomous visually impaired, he had a hard life but an unfailing optimism. He composed many songs and tested them on an urban audience constantly renewed. His first album, Underground Raï Love, was released in the spring of 2019. He totally nailed it with his covers of Cheb Hasni and his own compositions, at the confluence of 80's raï and Western pop. His new album Méhari produced by Baron Rétif is a road trip from Belleville to the south: an oranese dream were we're listening to Boutaiba Sghir, Rachid & Fethi, Cheb hasni gems, and Mohamed Lamouri's raï love songs he sings at the wheel. 'Méhari' is a racing camel from Algeria, prince of the desert, and also that french beach car from the late 70's, perfect driving shool vehicle for this awesome raï road trip.
