Hanna Ryynänen - Taite (2023) [Hi-Res]

Hanna Ryynänen is an expressive musician and kantele player. In her hands can be heard a wide range of kantele, from the small 5-string kantele to the 39-string concert kantele. Of all these, the Saarijärvi kantele’s rich tones and inspiring techniques are especially close to Hanna’s heart. Improvisation also has an important role in Hanna’s artistic work where she loves to seek new sounds and ways of playing.

Hanna works as a freelance musician, performing both solo and with her different ensembles. She also teaches the kantele in Espoo Music Institute and Riihimäki Music Institute. In her work as a teacher Hanna is especially interested in using improvisation and composing as approaches to support her students’ creative musicianship. Hanna holds a Master’s degree in folk music from University of the Arts, Helsinki.
