Jarecki Jazz Octet - Ep: Extended Products (2023)

JARECKI JAZZ OCTET - is a newly created concert project on the Polish jazz music market. It is a band composed of musical individuals, winners of national and international competitions. The band creates a coherent musical whole on the stage. The leader of the group is Jan Jarecki, a pianist and composer who set himself the goal of writing completely new pieces for an eight-person ensemble, consisting of five wind instruments and a rhythm section. The uniqueness of this project is proved by the fact that it is the only jazz octet in Poland with such instruments. Stylistically, the musical material of the octet is a synthesis of swing, groove, romantic ballads, Afro-Cuban elements, improvisation and modern sound, inspired by the orchestras of Maria Schneider or Gil Evans. The stage experiences of all members of the band, as well as the leader’s composition and arrangement ideas, result in “EP: Extended Products”.
