Sixth work of the Amato jazz trio for Abeat Records, one of the longest-lived formations on the Italian jazz scene, with a very particular story that began with an explosive debut in 1987 by winning the independent competition for the then famous magazine “Fare Musica” and immediately after the “Dire jazz contest “. Theirs is a story that has had various vicissitudes and has been immortalized by a wonderful short film by the director Giuseppe Di Bernardo (attached to a famous jazz magazine). The Amato jazz trio has always stood out for its absolutely unique and original trait, characterized by a stylistic figure partly linked to tradition but also with excursions towards “harmonies” and suggestions of a cultured pianism of the historic twentieth century, also composed of various “mood” in which european free jazz and more recognizable harmonizations alternate, with an expressiveness supported by great passion, enriched by some typically Mediterranean, even Sicilian, connotations: critics from across the border have often spoken of magmaticity (in reference to the Etna volcano ). A unique story for one of the most recognized Italian groups for originality to the point of being defined by Franco Fayenz in unsuspecting times “… one of the most original jazz trio in Europe and beyond”.
