3xHess - Music in the Sky (2023)

8 years after they won a Danish Music Award for best jazz album, 3XHESS are releasing a new album. “Music In the Sky” is a new album featuring the cool, soulful, earthly jazz sound of 3XHESS. Music derived from late New York nights, from the beautiful nature of Falster and from the many adventurous memories of life in the musical Hess family.

3XHESS are award winning musicians with a close musical understanding, who have been a significant part of Danish and international jazz for many years. The music is designed for the trio format. Jazz music, that has crossover elements from both the Scandinavian song melodies, blues, American jazz & African folk music.

“Music In the Sky” contains 12 compositions; 3 originals, 3 songs that have been in the family repertoire for a long time and also 6 pieces made collectively by 3XHESS in memory of their parents Em & Mogens Hess. The brothers have played all over the world, both together and on their own; the music has elements from many sources that melts together in the special sound of 3XHESS.
