Irina Mejoueva - Schubert: 4 Impromptus D. 935, Piano Sonata D. 784, etc. (2023)

Irina Medjieva presents the third installment of the new Schubert series. The program focuses on Schubert's A minor Sonata (D784), which marked a milestone in the creation of Schubert's piano sonatas, and his late masterpiece "Improvisations, Op. 142". Both of these pieces were re-recorded by Medjieva, and their deepened interpretations are a must-hear. The variety of sounds created by her ever-changing touch beautifully expresses Schubert's indescribable solitude and human warmth. The two small pieces in the coupling are also exceptional. The instrument used is a 1925 New York Steinway (CD135).
