Along with the emergence of a new generation of our jazz players, distributors have woken up and are increasingly deciding to publish their albums. After the album "Mr. KK" by Matija Dedić's trio, Dancing Bear released the first album by guitarist Ivan Kapec. In the trio he formed last year, double bassist Saša Borovec, from Varaždin, from the Symphony Orchestra of the Slovenian Radio and Television and various Slovenian jazz ensembles, and drummer Borna Šercar, a permanent member of the HRT Big Band and the Zagreb Jazz Portrait ensemble, who has collaborated with many of our jazz players, play in the trio. and he is the winner of the Status award for the most talented jazz instrumentalist. Lately, Kapec is an increasingly prominent composer. So on the CD "Lancun" they perform only his compositions. They play harmoniously in the style of modern and main-stream jazz with elements of Brazilian music. Kapec is a guitarist with a gentle and clean tone, introspective, measured and unobtrusive. Although the album is a typical guitarist, each member of the trio presents himself as an inventive improviser. Borovec's solos in the performances of the compositions "Emanation" in which he plays the bow, and "Mirabile" are impressive. Šercar is equally good in accompaniment and solos, and he does well no matter what rhythm he plays. During the nineties, Kapec played with many of our musicians, and most often he collaborated with Miro Kadoić, with whom he also plays in Ten Directions. On this CD, Kadoić joins as a guest in the performance of the composition "Rakitje Lake", while guitarist Robert Vnuk is a guest in the composition "Holmes' Body". Producers Marko Sekulić, Tomislav Pasanac and Andrija Rudić, who made remixes of some songs, made sure that everything was in trend. introspective, measured and unobtrusive.
