The Midnight Callers - Rattled Humming Heart (2023)

New York City-based four-piece The Midnight Callers return with their sophomore album Rattled Humming Heart, featuring eleven power pop stompers with a glam rock beat. Although we hear influences from our 70s heroes, Chris Paine (vocals, rhythm guitar), Martin Stubbs (vocals, lead guitar), Marley Myrianthopoulos (vocals, bass) and Julien Budrino (vocals/drums) have written some classy original hits of their own, full of blissful hooks, ace guitar riffs, pulsing rhythms and cool harmony vocals. Highlights galore (just start with opening track and lead single New York Tramp), but personal favorite is Step! (208 BPM, anyone?), which should be selected by any playlist creator looking to improve sports performance.
