As actor, musician and songwriter, Rich Follett has entertained audiences all over the U.S. (as well as overseas) for nearly twenty years. Raised principally in New York, he received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Theater Arts from Hofstra University. After several years residence each in Virginia and in Nashville, he presently is based in the Shenandoah valley - teaching, writing songs, performing community theater, and singing for contemporary folk audiences. His prior engagements include Washington's Kennedy Center, Busch Gardens and Williamsburg area, Maryland Renaissance Festival, Ontario Renaissance Festival, and the Alaska State Fair to cite only a tiny few. He has released five contemporary folk recordings of original music on the independent Unicorn Records label: Heart of Glass, Modern Day Minstrel, Shenandoah Christmas, Simple Songs, and A Place in the Circle. He has done a specifically Renaissance Festival cassette and a Christmas album. His special interests include writing (two of his poems have been published), performing children's music, gardening, and the practice of therapeutic massage. (He is an ABMP certified massage therapist.)
