Portable Radio like harmonies and choruses; they’re listening to Todd Rundgren again; they’re the Beach Boys when they all grew beards; they’re Paul McCartney pottering about in his shed; they’re a road trip singing along to Hall & Oates; they’re here to bring the sunshine.

Featuring Phil (Beep Seals, Jim Noir Band), Robyn (The Junipers, Bob of the Pops) Joe (The Junipers) and Mof, Portable Radio are the sound of ‘70s FM radio channelled through the weirdness of looking down the barrel of strange times.

It’s an uncynical love of pop music, like a mixtape made up of tracks by Carole King, Weyes Blood, Wings, Drugdealer, NRBQ, The Kinks, XTC, Whitney, The Zombies, and all that good stuff.

Their first tunes – the debut single ‘Seven Hills/Parades’ and ‘Situation Inconceivable’ from the 12 String High compilation were released through You Are The Cosmos recordings, and they released their brilliant debut LP, through the fabulous Crimson Crow.

2023 sees the second LP 'Counting To Three' hitting record players and showing an even more sophisticated sound, but still solid gold pop!
