Modal Trafikk - Fabrique (2023)

Modal Trafikk has been a legendary live outfit for a decade. Playing contemporary afrobeat-tunes for dance. Matias Tellez and Joar Nicolaysen experienced them live in a basement in Bergen, and they were totally blown away by this highly energetic, beat driven expression. So they asked them to do an album on their label Lekk.

For the time being, the project was named Modal Afrique, hence the genres they mixed. After being in the studio a while, they began making new tunes, and it felt right to change their name.

Much have changed, but drummer and percussionist has been the same since Modal Afrique did their first concert in 2013. Its the same two guys that runs Modal Trafikk today, Audun Humberset and Ivar Thormodsæter, and when they make music, it always starts with rhythm. Enjoy!
