Servo - Monsters (2023) Hi-Res

The post-punk group had refined its most thunderous musical style for an extraordinary result. Three long years have passed and the time has come for them to do it again with their long-awaited successor called Monsters.

Very quickly, Servo shows his fangs from the start with “Island” more electric and more muscular than ever. The trio succeeds in combining rhythmic post-punk and oppressive shoegaze through compositions that are both hypnotic and mystical such as “Glitch 2.1” and “Day and night monsters” which follow.

After a spectral interlude, Servo adds a layer with chilling moments like “Peaks” and “Stadium”. Monsters relies on power and brutality to give birth to an inhabited masterpiece that is characterized by “Who else likes surprises?” » and by “Giants” as a supercharged and dizzying conclusion. The trio has created a great, monstrous and cold work, bringing out all the complexities that will allow them to reach new heights.
