Emil Brandqvist Trio - Seascapes (2016) LP

Emil Brandqvist, the drummer and composer from Gothenburg is a sound painter, paying close attention to the melody, while weaving Nordic folkloric influences into the music. He is supported by his long-standing trio: the Finnish pianist and composer Tuomas Turunen, as well as the Stockholm bassist Max Thornberg. Turunen was a revelation, a classical pianist, who utilises the full range of his abilities to complement the compositions.
