It is said that on Bunin's first visit to Japan, on the night of his concerto performance with the NHK Symphony Orchestra, there was a strange kind of excitement swirling in the Showa Women's University Hitomi Memorial Auditorium in Tokyo. Bunin's solo performances were not of the honor student type, but focused on free-spirited improvisation, and everyone was convinced that he was the birth of a great individualistic pianist. The overall tempo is fast and it feels extremely fresh. It is filled with the strong presence of Bunin, a 19-year-old young man, and her persuasive power. I am overwhelmed by his skillful technique and spirit.
