In this Album, the Ensemble Vortex presents a selection of works from the most important cultural centres of Dante Alighieri’s time, which are also mentioned in his Divina Commedia, among others. The result is a vivid musical picture of the time in which the great poet lived. A world where music and poetry were inseparable.
Vortex researches and explores European and Mediterranean music from the 11th to the 14th century. One of the main purposes of Vortex is to bring back to life the vibrancy and the richness of an often underestimated musical epoch.
