Antigua Quartett - Astronauta (2019)

In the footsteps of Django Reinhardt and Stéphane Grapelli, ANTIGUA reinterprets the Gipsy swing. The quartet around the singer Elsa Johanna Mohr polishes the old sound of the 1930s to a high gloss and creates something new: retro and modern at the same time, committed to tradition, but always looking ahead. ANTIGUA enriches the genre of gypsy jazz with brilliant original compositions. The texts, which are mainly sung in German, deal with wishes, dreams, fears and contradictions - primeval themes that are timeless and transcend generational boundaries.
