This recording started as a collection of new songs that I had been crafting over the last year or so. Quite a variety of genres, so I started selecting various friends that I had played music with to play on the songs where they would really fit. As this continued, it became apparent I could get a whole bunch of folks to play on it. I got to thinking, well that way every time I listened to the record I could get to "spend time" with my friends, wherever they or I may be. Then, I resurrected a couple of cover songs from a project gone astray 5 years previous, so that I could include some others that I could't have gotten to be able to play on the originals. So all told, there are around 30 various musicians, singers and savory characters from around the town of Corvallis, OR on this record. Eight different singers, 4 percussionists, 3 bass players, 3 fiddle/violinists, 2 pianists, 2 mandolinists, trumpet, banjo, cello, dobro, harmonica, clarinet, flugelhorn and a guest guitarist. Kind of an odd assortment of musical textures, brought on by an odd assortment of friends.
