WOJTEK STANISZ QUARTET - Szuflandia (2024) Hi-Res

Bassist Wojtek Stanisz debuts with his original material Szuflandia, which consists of nine original themes. So far, Stanisz has worked as a session musician and teacher, among others. in Muzyczna Owczarnia, in Jaworki near Szczawnica.

Wojtek Stanisz is supported in the quartet by Piotr Wieczorek (guitars, banjo), Marcin Jagiełło (keyboards) and Jan Szkudlarek (percussion instruments). Wojtek Kidoń guest plays on percussion, Mateusz Smoczyński enriches the title Szuflandia on violin, Wiktor Tatarek plays guitar in Requiem for Unknown, and Flahjo was recorded with the participation of the Barrels Cello Quartet arranged by Wojtek Lemański.

The songs on the album draw on accessible fusion with world music influences. The leader admits that when creating the album, he was inspired by the memories of old pharmacies and the film Kingsajz by Juliusz Machulski, and his imagination was influenced by the mechanism of pigeonholing. Stanisz leaves the interpretation of the title Szuflandia to the listeners.
