Marek Švejkar - Connection (2024)

Connection's debut album is the result of more than a decade of touring, musical partnership and intricate life journeys. The entire disc is built as a guide to Czech-French clarinet work, which in many cases has not yet found an interpreter on CD carriers, and therefore these are premieres. The name has many meanings and is based on the imaginary link between the Czech Republic and France, between which I have been traveling for the past ten years and my music with me. It is about connecting French aesthetics with the richness of Czech culture, from which all my musical inspiration comes. I would like to approach the clarinet, for many of us a forgotten gem from the family of wind instruments, in a completely different light, by combining a listening-friendly, virtuosic and unusual repertoire for listeners both musically uninterested and professional public. Hereby, I would like to thank my colleague Lence for the artistic cooperation and support, with whom I have been growing musically and have been performing concerts in the country and around the world for years. Without this friendly connection, you would very likely not read anything about this venture today. Hence Connection - Années de pèlerinage.
