Mathias Bressan - Ballades pour mon chien noir (2024) [Hi-Res]

Originally from Brussels, Mathias Bressan expresses his illusions by singing behind his drums, between extreme softness and rock noise.

After Entre Terre et mer, a first album recorded between Belgium and Quebec released in 2013 that took him on the roads of the Francophonie, he has ensured the first parts of Juliette Gréco, Albin de la Simone and DAAN . His songs feed on the breasts of musical eclecticism and disguise themselves as pop boxes. His texts, full of belgitude and happy melancholy, recall his visceral attachment to his origins. Multi-instrumentalist, he develops a hands-on practice. A thousand lives of discoveries and surely a thousand lives still to extend its musical tastes exploded, from the rock’n’roll trance to the silences of classical music. To discover in a brand new trio formula in the company of Ivan Tirtiaux (electric guitar, synth, choirs) and Gil Mortio (bass electro, synth-bass, choirs) Mathias Bressan has already been able to travel his songs to the Bars in Festival of Voix de Fête Festival (Geneva), Coup de Coeur Francophone (Montreal), Boat El Alamein (Paris), Biplane (Lille) and many scenes of the flat country.

Hors des sentiers battus, Mathias Bressan poursuit son cheminement intègre et attachant. Il revient avec « Ballades pour mon chien noir », un objet hybride, entre recueil de poésie et album de chansons, onze titres d’une fragilité assumée, saupoudrées de post-rock, de belgitude et d’existentialisme.
