The Anceis Jazz Unit come back with their wildest outing yet. On GRM the group develops an explosive fusion style widely inspired by Phil Woods' European Rhythm Machine, Miles Davis' Lost Quintet, or early Weather Report. The concept of the album was conceived one night the members were hanging out. Daniel pulled a bootleg recording of Phil Woods' European Rhythm Machine circa 1971. The group was in awe, and arranged for a recording session right away. Developing the style of their previous outing Green Abstract, the artists deliver fiery performances. Jackson Harvey plays in a melodic, flowing style while Emma Sjue provides virtuosic distorted solos and rocking accompaniment. Pete Weiss maintains a solid and powerful bass over which Daniel flows from in-the-pocket grooves to total mayhem. The outing carries a punk aesthetic and vintage feel, paying homage to the great recordings and performances of early fusion.
